Our Strategy

To meet the needs of the medical device developers and medical practitioners, nationally and internationally, the strategy of the Galway Medical Technologies Centre is to build up a broad suite of anatomical simulation systems that will be available for use, by R&D personnel in device companies, to meet the product functional performance test and development needs of the companies.

The Galway Medical Technologies Centre is also building up capabilities in the areas of design for a broad range of implants; biocompatible materials selection; FEA; CFD; and coupled numerical analyses of interactions between medical devices and the human body. These capabilities are being made available to companies and individuals who can accelerate their design / development activities through the use of the services of the GMedTech Centre.
